NYC-based artist, model, and actor, Logan Avidan is back with her latest single, “Carried Away”. The powerful slow-burning ballad for Gen Z is drenched in sticky lyrics and mesmerizing gang vocals. Her fourth release in six months, the track is another taste of what’s to come on her anticipated upcoming debut solo album, Hot And Bothered. Listen to it now below.
Talking about the song, Avidan explains, “‘Carried Away’ is a song for the feels. I wrote it about that melancholy feeling that at any given moment can take you away from the present. Thoughts about past or future experiences are often the kind that can carry me away to that existential place. Living in NYC and being around so many people all the time can be really exciting and fun, but just like anyone, I can sometimes get carried away. Carried away with the party, the long nights but mostly with myself. My thoughts and emotions can take me to different places even if in reality I’m in the Uber with my friends going out. That visual of what’s going on in my mind versus what’s really going on is showcased in the music video that my friend Savannah Kodish directed. We shot the video on a weekend night with our friends. My producer, John Eatherly, and I share a love for 2000s pop radio hits and we were really excited to channel that energy in the track.”
Avidan’s records all her music at Sisserou Studios in Dumbo, Brooklyn with her partner in crime producer and co-writer John Eatherly, who’s well known in the industry for his band Club Intl and impactful contributions to notable indie acts like San Francisco dream-poppers Cults, Caroline Polachek’s Chairlift, playing guitar for Eleanor Friedberger’s (Fiery Furnaces) solo record, as chief songwriter for swaggering power pop foursome Public Access T.V, and as a current member of beloved garage rock outfit, Be Your Own Pet. It’s a dream collab by anyone’s standard and one that’s helping put Logan Avidan on the map for her musical prowess.
