Gold-certified alternative pop songstress, Sadie Jean has released her latest single, “You Don’t” today. The track will be featured on Simple Like 17 (Deluxe), the follow-up to Sadie’s debut EP, out May 17th.
Unparalleled intimacy underscores her delicate folk instrumentation and universally relatable storytelling. On the track, finger-picked guitar perfectly complements her breathy delivery and open-hearted songcraft. Lyrically, she tries to grasp on to the threads of a fraying relationship as she exhales, “I just want to hold you close, even when it feels like such a nightmare.” Emblematic of her uncanny ability to project emotion, you can feel the heartache, longing, and cathartic release all at once. “You Don’t” arrives on the heels of “Aisle 6,” which has been gaining traction at streaming platforms in addition to inciting anticipation for more among fans.
On the new song, Sadie shares, “The core of ‘You Don’t’ is persistent love that disregards whether it’s reciprocated or not. The song continues the story of my first love and first heartbreak on ‘Simple Like 17 (Deluxe).’”
