Hauskey has unveiled the official video for his latest single “Somewhere,” out now via slowplay/Republic Records.
The video was directed by Claudia Brand and shot in Stockton Sand Dunes in Salt Ash, Australia. Hauskey says, “I like music videos with a narrative, and this one came together so meaningfully. I wanted to have an almost Wes-Anderson-esque character at the heart of it; someone you might find in a children’s book. The oddity of the costume and the foreign, sandy planet is everything this year has been, and I hope both us, and the alien character in the clip, find ‘Somewhere.’”
“Somewhere” follows the Australian artist’s smooth, sunshine leftfield pop introductory single, “Slow,” and takes a similar sonic blueprint, painting it with broader, denser and brighter brush strokes. “Somewhere” has already received critical acclaim from press around the globe, including Clash Magazine, Coup De Main, DIY Magazine, Dork, and has been added into rotation at triple j.
Stay tuned for more to come from Hauskey this fall.
