Following his original single “My Level” earlier this year, Kyle Watson now enlists the Midwest’s finest J. Worra for a “My Level” remix back on Gorgon City’s esteemed REALM label.
One of South Africa’s biggest dance music exports, Kyle Watson has made a name for himself globally with releases on the likes of Diplo’s Higher Ground, Mau5trap, Spinnin’, Box Of Cats, Parametric, Ultra, Atlantic, Dirtybird, Armada, Club Sweat and more.
Having remixed for the likes of Zhu, Oliver Heldens, Rudimental, Justin Martin and Malaa, Kyle Watson now passes remixes duties over to J. Worra. Crowned DJ Mag’s 2019 Breakthrough Producer, along with hits already on REALM, Techne, Dirtybird, Farris Wheel Recordings, Thrive, Mau5trap In/Rotation, Sweat It Out and others, the My Level remix is left in perfectly capable hands.
Following her latest remix for GRiZ and Wreckno’s Medusa, J. Worra is more than excited to get her hands on another rework, allowing her to reconnect with the roots of her sound:
“Kyle’s original is such a groove oriented track. I wanted to recreate the bass, keep its motif, and then work a new bouncy groove around that. I also pulled some inspiration from my Chicago roots for the little synth lead… the elements of this remix really fall in line with my new school old school approach to music. I love leaning into my roots and interpreting them into my own modernized sound”
Certainly cranking up the groove, J. Worra’s My Level remix chops the original vocal whilst adding a chunky synth fuelled drop. Infused with Disclosure style essence whilst showcasing hew own unique spin, J. Worra’s My Level remix continues to demonstrate her exciting and skyrocketing talent that is turning heads across the globe.
