Genre-defying Dominican-Irish artist jame minogue has released his irresistible new single “Hate Being In Love.” The upbeat, Latin-infused track sees jame minogue seamlessly melding different sounds from cultures across the world. The production by Omar Tavarez (Pitbull), Mark Pelli (MAGIC!) and jame himself supports the clever songwriting as his punchy, indie pop vocals float between English and Spanish, showcasing a sound uniquely his own.
minogue’s lyricism details the games that oftentimes accompany newfound love with lyrics like “Ok now think about the time we ditched a class and went to bed / Me encerraste en el closet cuando ya vino tu ex [translates to ‘You locked me in the closet when your ex came’].”
The single is accompanied by an official music video shot in LA by Camila Noriega, which finds jame sitting alone at a picnic blanket, waiting for his lover to arrive. Watch it now below.
“Hate Being In Love” is the lead single from jame minogue’s sophomore EP Príncipe Azul (Prince Charming). Stay tuned for more from him soon.
