Paper Jackets, the captivating Silver Lake-based synth-pop sextet have released the music video for hit single “Trigger”, taken from their re-released debut EP, Don’t Lose Your Head. The video, directed by Ivanna Borin, showcases their fun and creative history. Watch it now below.
On the track, frontman James Mason shares “Spontaneous, delirious but not in denial , this is a song about falling right to edge of our limitations. Music makes us feel limitless, impervious to consequence and somehow even though deep down we know nothing comes without a price we’ve made peace with living for the moment and coloring outside the lines from time to time.”
Recently re-released via Selma Records, Don’t Lose Your Head showcases Paper Jackets’ unique sleek, souped-up style of synth-pop that equally takes its cues from the current crop of genre peers like Walk The Moon, Smallpools, CHVRCHES and Cherry Pools, but also legendary acts like The Ronettes and The Beach Boys. These decades-spanning influences and an overall indie aesthetic create a blend of pop and rock that’s all at once topical and timeless. Produced by Ethan Kaufmann (Avril Lavigne, Driver Friendly), Don’t Lose Your Head is available for streaming now at https://paper-jackets.lnk.to/MQzSNFP.
