Florida based band Magnolia Park have released their new single “I should’ve listened to my friends” alongside its accompanying music video. The song was co-written & produced by Nick Long (MGK, Iann Dior, Sueco) & Andy Seltzer (Lil Huddy) for a collaboration that highlights the band’s many genre-fluid influences. The track finds the band ruminates on a past fling and realizing all of the red flags and warnings from loved ones that they ignored.
Guitarist/songwriter Tristan Torres sums up the song by saying, “Toxic relationships hurt the most, but nothing hurts more than losing all your friends because of them.”
Magnolia Park is lead vocalist Joshua Roberts, guitarists Tristan Torres and Freddie Criales, bassist Jared Kay, drummer Joe Horsham, and keyboardist Vincent Ernst. Rooted in pop-punk sensibilities while staying true to their unique styles, Magnolia Park incorporates elements of hip-hop, emo and alternative pop into their eclectic mix of sounds. Since the release of their Heart Eater EP, the band has found themselves favoring production bursting with alluring synths and Tik-Tok dance-worthy trap beats, layered over the guitar riffs and sing-a-long melodies that have propelled them into an ongoing upward trajectory. Lyrically, they explore the dark realities of life while adding an optimistic spin and uplifting hooks to offset those less-than ideal situations.
The band is also kicking off a tour this fall with A Day To Remember and The Used starting October 1st in Florida, and ending in Irvine, CA on October 28th.
