    Camille Trust No Other Way

    Review by Dom Vigil

It’s impossible not to feel something when listening to Camille Trust’s debut EP, No Other Way. These four songs not only chronicle the stages of a breakup – from making the decision to leave someone to the regret that comes along with it and ultimately coming out stronger – but they also perfectly showcase Trust’s rich, soulful vocal abilities. From poppier cuts like “No Other Way” and “FREAK” to the stunning ballad “Move On,” she proves within only four tracks that she’s practically capable of anything.

No Other Way is a soulful and powerful release, but most of all, it’s very human. Throughout these songs, Trust touches on subjects and emotions that we’ve all experienced or felt before. The empowering title track, “No Other Way” is about walking away from a relationship to better yourself, while “Lose You” is about the fear of losing someone that you love. Both of these emotions tie together beautifully in the vulnerable “Move On,” which opens with the line, “I know I fucked up,” before diving into a raw ballad about regret and uncertainty but also hope. Both lyrically and vocally, “Move On” is absolutely mind blowing, especially when Trust shows off her stunning long notes.

No Other Way follows the stages of love and loss, with songs like “Lose You” desperate for another chance while “FREAK” is dripping with confidence. By the time the EP is through, you’ll feel as if you truly know Camille Trust, which is exactly what one hopes for on a debut release. Emerging with four soulful, vulnerable and stunning songs, Trust doesn’t hold back on this release, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
