Although the beginning of the year is usually fairly slow when it comes to concerts, now that we’re finally getting in the swing of things, there are a ton of incredible shows coming through Colorado in February! From sold out tours at The Black Sheep in Colorado springs to smaller local shows at Summit Music Hall’s Moon Room, or even a massive, ninja-themed dance party at 1st Bank Center, there are plenty of shows for any music fan this month, if you know the right place to look.
Below, we’ve rounded up some of our most anticipated shows in February in case you just can’t decide what to check out this month. Take your sweetheart to discover a new band at Larimer Lounge or remember why you first fell in love with Circa Survive on Valentine’s Day, or maybe spend the last few days of the month at the Larimer Church of Reverend Horton Heat. Whatever you choose to do, it’ll be accompanied by a great soundtrack this February!
2/4 – Datsik @ 1st Bank Center
Themed after his obsession with ninja culture previously marked by his 2015 ‘Ninja Nation Tour,’ Datsik is armed with shaolin bass from the infamous PK-Sound and bringing along a new high-tech production to the 2017 edition called “The Shogun.” Recently, Datsik announced some incredibly support for this show including special guest GZA from the Wu-Tang Clan performing Liquid Swords with a live band as well as Crizzly, Protohype, Party Thieves and Virtual Riot. This promises to be one hell of a party to start the month off right!
2/7 – K. Flay @ The Black Sheep
The last time K. Flay came through Denver in November, she played to a completely sold-out and very enthusiastic crowd at The Marquis Theater. This time around, the powerful indie/hip-hop artist will be about an hour away in Colorado Springs, but that hasn’t stopped her devoted fans from traveling a little further to see her again. The show, which is already sold-out, is sure to be worth the money if you’re able to score tickets from a friend or reseller. And if K. Flay’s energetic performance isn’t enough to convince you, she’s also joined by Paper Route and Daye Jack.

2/8 – Expire @ The Marquis Theater
This one should be a no-brainer. If you’re a fan of Expire, then this is your last time to catch them in Denver for their final tour and chances are, this might be one of the band’s best performances yet. Recently, Expire revisited their roots and embarked on a short run of 12 house shows in 11 days, and if they’re still keen on reminding fans why they fell in love with them in the first place, then this is one you don’t want to miss! This show has a stacked lineup as well, including Denver locals Line Brawl.
2/10 – False Report @ The Black Sheep
If you’re searching for some great local music to check out this month, look no further. Not only is indie/pop-punk band False Report celebrating their new EP, Collapse out February 7th, but the show is also in support of the recently shut down local DIY venue, Flux Capacitor. With great openers, You Never Were, Blind The Thief, Had I Known and Antenna Reverie, this show is well worth the $10.
2/11 – Run The Jewels @ The Fillmore Auditorium
Run The Jewels are currently touring in support of their recently released album, Run The Jewels 3, and multiple shows on this run have already been upgraded due to high demand. Although The Fillmore isn’t necessarily an intimate venue, this show promises to be wild, to say the least. What better way to kick off your 2017 concert schedule than with this show!
2/14 – MUNA @ Larimer Lounge
When dark pop trio MUNA came through Denver with Grouplove back in October, they completely blew us away, and this time around, they’re headlining the very intimate Larimer Lounge in support of their upcoming debut album, about u with LO MOON in tow. At this point, we’ve grown to trust just about any artist that Larimer Lounge books, as many of them end up breaking out to play to sold out shows at much larger venues in Colorado (see Melanie Martinez, for example) and you really don’t want to sleep on MUNA this time around. Your sweetheart will thank you when these ladies blow up.
2/14 – Circa Survive @ The Ogden Theatre
If you’re in the mood for reminiscing rather than discovering new music on Valentine’s Day, then you’re going to want to be at The Ogden Theatre for Circa Survive’s ten year anniversary celebration of On Letting Go. You really shouldn’t need any convincing to catch this fan-favorite album played in full, but if it sways you at all, the band has brought along some killer openers, mewithoutYou and Turnover, as well as a production that literally makes the album artwork come alive on stage.
2/16 – SKYBURIAL @ Moon Room
Denver’s own SKYBURIAL always put on a chaotic performance that you don’t want to miss, but this show is bound to take the cake. Not only will the band be celebrating the release of their new album Faithless Eternal (out the same day) but they’re also set to play the tiny Moon Room at Summit Music Hall, which promises to be wild from start to finish. The lineup for this local show is stacked as well, with The Burial Plot, Remain And Sustain, Lonely Bones and The Common Good opening.
2/21 – Waterparks & Too Close To Touch @ The Marquis Theater
A headlining tour from both Waterparks and Too Close To Touch has been a long time coming, so what better way to give back to their fans than setting out on a co-headliner together? Last year, both bands performed all summer long on The Vans Warped Tour before setting out on tour opening for Sleeping With Sirens and Crown The Empire, respectively. Both Waterparks and Too Close To Touch are set to break out this year, and this might be the first and last time you’ll be able to see both bands headline a venue this size! Grab your tickets now, because many dates have already sold out and they’re going fast!
2/22 Emo Nite @ The Marquis Theater
Okay, so Emo Nite isn’t a show necessarily, but it is one event that you don’t want to miss this month. In case you’re not familiar, Emo Nite is a monthly emo rock music party started by three friends that brings together people who share a love of emo music from the 90’s, 2000’s and today. It’s an excuse to rock out and dance the night away while singing along to the greatest songs of your teenage years. The most exciting part? Each night, a different musician from the scene guest DJs! At their two year anniversary party in LA last year, some of the special guests were Tyson Ritter and Nick Wheeler of The All-American Rejects, Aaron Gillespie of Underoath, Jordan Pundik of New Found Glory and Craig Owens of Chiodos. If you’re over the age of 21 and enjoy loudly singing along with emo music with your friends, you need to be here!
2/21 – 2/25 Reverend Horton Heat @ Larimer Lounge
Reverend Horton Heat will be taking over Larimer Lounge at the end of February for a historic five night residency. Need I say more? Seeing Reverend Horton Heat live is a one of a kind experience, and you get the chance to do so FIVE times this month. There’s really no excuse to miss one of these shows – who knows when it will happen again!
