Fall is always a busy time of the year for the music scene, but this year, things seem crazier than ever before, with countless shows coming up at Summit Music Hall and The Marquis Theater and even the smaller venues like Globe Hall and Lost Lake Lounge. Even with the Halloween over and winter and the holidays quickly approaching, there is no shortage of great artists coming through Colorado in November. With the busy holiday season, it might be a bit difficult to make it out to every show you want to see, so we’ve narrowed down a list of ten must-see shows this month across Colorado.
On top of some one of a kind tours coming through town this month, there are also some great local artists that we highly recommend checking out in November. If you’re looking for something high energy to start the month off right, then check out The Burial Plot and Remain and Sustain‘s co-headlining show at The Marquis on November 9th! If hardcore isn’t really your speed though, maybe you should stop in the next night for this broken beat‘s album release show and Nightlove‘s first ever live performance. You also have three chances to celebrate My Body Sings Electric‘s 10th anniversary later this month, and if you can’t make it to Denver, then they’re going to come to you with a show in Fort Collins and one in Colorado Springs.
As always, let us know which shows you’re excited to see this month in the comments! Who should we check out in this month? Let us know!
11/7 – Dance With The Dead @ Globe Hall
Quite possibly one of the most unique shows in Colorado in November also falls fairly early in the month with synthwave duo Dance With The Dead taking over the intimate stage at Globe Hall. Although a little late for Halloween, their dark, moody sound is sure to create quite the atmosphere in this smaller room. If you’re looking to discover something new this month, this is it.
11/9 – The Burial Plot & Remain and Sustain @ The Marquis Theater
Denver hardcore heavyweights The Burial Plot and Remain and Sustain will be celebrating the release of their STILL/LIFE split EP on November 9th with a co-headlining show at The Marquis Theater. Known for their high energy live performances, both bands already make for a strong local bill, and the added support of Dead Set, Souls and Venom and Valor is just a bonus, promising for one of the best local shows this fall.
11/10 – this broken beat & Nightlove @ The Marquis Theater
The night after The Burial Plot and Remain and Sustain take over the stage at The Marquis, fellow locals this broken beat will be celebrating their highly anticipated new album, What’s On Your Mind with a special release show. Joining them for the first time live is retro pop outfit, Nightlove, who promise to put on an incredible first show, as well as OptycNerd, Holdfast and Water Aerobics. Tickets to this show are going fast, so get them while you can!
11/12 – Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties @ The Marquis Theater
If you’re a fan of The Wonder Years, then it’s likely that you’ve noticed their absence in Denver this year. The last time the band came through town was October of 2016, and with no tour dates planned in Colorado for the rest of this year, your only chance to see frontman Dan Campbell anytime soon is at this show. His other project, Aaron West And The Roaring Twenties is heading out on a run of select tour dates throughout November and December, bringing Steady Hands, Chase Huglin, Crooked Teeth and Shortly along for the ride. At a more intimate Marquis Theater, this is sure to be an incredible show with a stacked lineup.
11/16 – New Found Glory @ The Aggie Theatre
Although New Found Glory already played three nights at The Marquis earlier this year, you really can’t see these guys too many times. This time around, they’re taking their show a little further north to The Aggie in Fort Collins, and along for the ride are The Ataris, making this show a must see from start to finish. Like The Marquis, The Aggie generally doesn’t have a barricade, which makes for a much more up close and personal experience than usual, as well.
11/18 – Waterparks @ Summit Music Hall
With their new album, Entertainment dropping in January, rising pop-rock band Waterparks are showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The last time they headlined in Denver, it was to a packed and enthusiastic crowd at The Marquis, making this upcoming show their biggest headlining performance in Colorado to date. And considering how devoted their quickly growing fanbase is, they’re only going to keep growing from here. If that isn’t enough to convince you to check out this show, then maybe the stellar support will seal the deal. Coming along for the ride are As It Is, Chapel and Sleep On It.
11/22 – Pale Waves @ Lost Lake Lounge
Earlier this year, Pale Waves appeared as special guests to The 1975 on their sold out US arena tour, including a show at New York’s Madison Square Garden and Denver’s The Fillmore Auditorium and now, they’re returning to North America to make their headlining debut. Although significantly smaller than The Fillmore, where they played for two nights back in May, Lost Lake Lounge down the street will provide an incredibly intimate setting for this show. Considering how quickly they’ve been growing stateside, it’s safe to say this will be one of the last times Pale Waves plays at Lost Lake, too.
11/22 – Citizen @ The Marquis Theater
Citizen are currently in the midst of a headlining tour in support of their new album, As You Please, and Denver’s date comes just a few days before they wrap things up for the year. The Marquis is significantly more intimate than Red Rocks, where they opened up for Circa Survive and AFI earlier this summer, but judging by their performance on that massive stage (and in front of thousands of people who were quite possibly hearing them for the first time) they’re only going to shine even more at a smaller venue filled with die-hard fans. Coming along with Citizen are strong supporting acts, Sorority Noise (who also just released their emotional new album, You’re Not As ___ As You Think earlier this year) and Great Grandpa.
11/29 – The Spill Canvas @ The Gothic Theatre
Whether they’re hitting the stage at The Bluebird, the smaller Larimer Lounge or – this time around – the Gothic Theatre, The Spill Canvas always put on an incredible show. Unafraid to dive deep into their older material (these shows are in celebration of the 10 year anniversary of No Really, I’m Fine) and always welcoming to their die-hard fans, Spill Canvas shows are always filled with positive, uplifting energy and great music. Plus, this gives you an excuse to sing “All Over You” at the top of your lungs once more.
11/30 12/1 & 12/2 – My Body Sings Electric – 10 Year Anniversary @ Hodi’s Half Note, The Black Sheep and The Marquis Theater
Okay, so technically, two of these shows are in December and only one is in November, but we’re so excited for My Body Sings Electric’s 10 Year Anniversary Shows that we couldn’t wait to include them in our calendar! In celebration of their 10 years together, My Body Sings Electric are hitting three major cities in Colorado, so you can either sit and wait for them to come to you or you can go all out and attend all three shows to party with them! My Body Sings Electric have been a staple in Denver’s local music scene for a decade now, so it’s a good reason to get a little rowdy and listen to some of their great music live again. Plus, they’ve got some other incredible local acts, such as Slow Caves, Modern Suspects, Tigerwine, Silver & Gold, Luxxe and All Chiefs opening these shows!
My Body Sings Electric will be performing at Hodi’s Half Note in Fort Collins on November 30th, The Black Sheep in Colorado Springs on December 1st and The Marquis Theater in Denver on December 2nd.
