Support Local Music: Discover New Colorado Artists Throughout The Month Of March

When I was growing up, my favorite bands were locals. In fact, it was seeing some of Denver’s home-bred artists, such as Lenore, Texas Is On Fire and New Day Awakening at former venues like Rock Island and Grandpa’s Music Box that first inspired me to pick up a guitar and learn how to play. These local musicians shaped my love for music and the Denver music scene, and continue to do so to this day. Now, I want to give back to that scene.

The Prelude Press was initially founded because no other Colorado publications would give bands an outlet to showcase their music and find new fans. But we don’t care if you can sell out The Ogden Theatre or if you’re only playing to a few friends in a basement or a garage. The music, not ticket sales or a social media following, speaks for itself.

March 3rd (also known as 303 day) has quickly become a widely accepted day for celebrating local music in Colorado, but why only dedicate one day to our local music scene when we have an entire month to do so? For the month of March, we’ll be featuring at least one different artist every single day. At the end of these 31 days, if you walk away with at least one new favorite local band, then that’s all that matters.
