Think of the month of August as the calm before the storm. With venues like The Marquis Theater and Summit Music Hall currently under renovation and reopening next month, as well as countless fall tours getting announced every day, the fall and winter concert season in Colorado is shaping up to be insane. In the meantime, we recommend that you sit back, relax, and enjoy some of these awesome summer shows before school is back in session and the weather starts cooling off. From perfect outdoor shows like Frank Turner and Lucero at Red Rocks and Coheed And Cambria with Taking Back Sunday at Sculpture Park to hometown favorites 888‘s album release shows later this month and plenty of two night stays from multiple artists, there is a wide variety of shows worth checking out and braving the heat for in August!

8/3 – Lucero & Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls @ Red Rocks Amphitheatre
Lucero’s co-headlining show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre alongside Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls is the perfect summer show. With the promise of good vibes, sing-alongs and Frank Turner dancing his way through the crowd at Red Rocks, this will be the perfect show to keep the party going into August.
8/4 – Alison Wonderland @ The Ogden Theatre
Alison Wonderland has been exploding since the release of her latest album, Awake, and her upcoming two headlining shows at The Ogden Theatre promise to prove exactly why. With the first date on August 3rd already sold out, it’ll be no surprise if the second show sells out quickly as well – grab tickets while you can!
8/4 – Now, Now @ Globe Hall
Minneapolis duo Now, Now are currently celebrating their critically acclaimed and highly anticipated new album, Saved with their headlining tour hitting Globe Hall in Denver on August 4th. Saved marks the band’s first new release since 2012, so it’s safe to say that this will be one show you don’t want to miss.
8/6 – Coheed and Cambria & Taking Back Sunday @ Sculpture Park
If you’re looking for the perfect show to keep the summer vibes in full swing while singing along at the top of your lungs, catch Coheed and Cambria and Taking Back Sunday at Sculpture Park! Not only are Coheed and Cambria celebrating their upcoming album, Unheavenly Creatures out later this fall, but openers The Story So Far just announced their new album, Proper Dose, which means you can expect a healthy mix of old and new music from each band.
8/7 – CHVRCHES @ The Ogden Theatre
Scottish synth-pop band CHVRCHES are also taking over The Ogden Theatre for two days in August, and although their first show on the 6th is sold out, tickets are still available for their performance on the 7th – for now! Act on these ones fast before they’re gone. CHVRCHES are also bringing along rising English indie pop band, Pale Waves, making this a dazzling show from start to finish.
8/7 – Panic! At The Disco @ Pepsi Center
Do we really need to convince you to see Panic! At The Disco? The band is currently celebrating the release of their massive new album, Pray For The Wicked and this upcoming tour promises to take things to the next level with incredible performances and a spectacular production. With up and comers, A R I Z O N A and Hayley Kiyoko opening, this show is going to be killer from start to finish.
8/14 – Emery @ The Roxy Theatre
Emery will be coming through Denver for the first time in a little over a year, making their upcoming performance at The Roxy a must-see. Although the band isn’t touring in support of new music (other than their 2017 release, Revival), they always put on an incredible show.
8/14 & 8/15 – The Ataris @ The Oriental Theatre & The Black Sheep
The Ataris are currently celebrating the 15th anniversary of their fan-favorite album, So Long, Astoria, and you have not one, but two chances to catch them when they’re in Colorado! Whether you’re up north or down south near Colorado Springs, you won’t have to travel far to catch either of these shows. In other words, you have no excuse not to make it!

8/16 & 8/17 – 888 @ The Black Sheep & Hodi’s Half Note
Like many of the bands on this list, hometown heros 888 are showing Colorado a little extra love in August with TWO shows coming up in Colorado Springs and Fort Collins! If you’re looking for something a little larger than life, check out their show at The Black Sheep, but if you’re in search of a more intimate performance, then you’ll want to catch them at Hodi’s Half Note. 888 will be releasing their new album, Everybody Can’t Complain on August 17th, meaning these two celebratory shows will be one hell of a party!

8/21 – Lydia @ The Bluebird Theater
