Review by Tracy Galarza O’Brother’s long-awaited new record has finally arrived folks. The Atlanta band’s third full length, Endless Light is due out on Triple Crowd Records/Favorite Gentlemen. Produced by Manchester Orchestra’s Andy Hull and Brad Fisher, Endless Light finds refinement in the band’s previous efforts. Endless Light begins grandly, with heavy drums and the O’Brother signature guitar sound we’ve all grown to love. Saturday night saw another packed house at The Observatory North Park in San Diego. With Mrs. Magician, AJJ – formerly Andrew Jackson Jihad – and Joyce Manor on the bill, San Diegans knew they were in for a treat. Which totally explains the line that wrapped around the entire block of folks waiting to get inside.
It’s not every night you get to see a solid punk rock show at a venue like The Observatory North Park. But When Anti-Flag brings along Leftöver Crack, War On Women, Blackbird Raum, and The Homeless Gospel Choir to San Diego, Friday night becomes Punk Night at The Observatory.
The British Invasion Tour kicked off last night at the House of Blues in San Diego without a hitch. With a lineup that featured While She Sleeps, Asking Alexandria, and Bullet For My Valentine it’s no wonder a slew of fans were lined up hours before door time. And the wait totally paid off because the sold out show was absolutely killer.
