LANY Brought “Elite Vibes” to Colorado During Their Summer Forever Tour

LA-based pop band, LANY brought their Summer Forever headlining tour to Fiddler’s Green this weekend.

Upon first look and listen, one might mistake LANY for a bubblegum pop band, led by a former-model turned lead singer (Paul Klein) who is sure to attract throngs of female fans. However, upon further attention you’ll find intricate lyrics describing the ups and downs of relationships in your 20s, among other life challenges, so consider their catalog your new official life soundtrack. Need a blissful love song? They got it. Feeling heartache? Check. Your ex sucks but you’re still thinking about them? Yeah, there’s a few options to choose from.

The Summer Forever Tour features material from their latest album gg bb xx, as well as long-time fan favorites like their first hit “ilysb” (short for I love you so bad). They also performed their newest single “Congrats,” which came out last month.

Klein shared the mantra for the night, having the audience repeat each line, “I am at a LANY show. My vibes are elite. My tastes are immaculate. And don’t let anyone tell me differently.” The crowd loved it. Klein could’ve been leading a cardio class for all his energy and jumping around onstage.

Pop band Surfaces, formed in Texas in 2017 by lead members Colin Padalecki and Forrest Frank, opened the show.

If the perfect beach playlist existed, Surfaces would have several tracks on it. Their song “24/7/365” samples its melody from “The Girl from Ipanema” and their hits “Sunday Best” and “Take it Easy” just ooze upbeat sunshine. “I Can’t Help But Feel” takes a slightly different turn, feeling more like a dance party track, eliciting similar sounds to bands like Foster the People and Glass Animals. But Surfaces makes their own sound and “Sheesh” they are a fun band to hear live.

The Summer Forever tour continues through the northwest this week, with its final stop in Seattle. Indie singer-songwriter, Annika Bennett also supported the show.
