Platinum-Certified, Nashville-based singer and songwriter Stephen Sanchez has released his new single, “Only Girl” today via Mercury Records/Republic Records. Originally debuted on tour, fans has been clamoring for the release of “Only Girl”, which Sanchez teased earlier this month. Produced by Ian Fitchuk and Konrad Snyder, who also co-wrote the song with Stephen and Stephen Day, the song is accompanied by a visualizer, which notably stars the same actress, Frances O’Sullivan, from the “Evangeline” visualizer.
On the song, Stephen Sanchez said, “‘Only Girl’ is a dialogue and sentiment between rival characters that appear in the universe behind my new music: The Troubadour Sanchez and a mysterious past love of Evangeline’s (seen in the lyric video). Both characters sing with the same heart–seeking to be with Evangeline in 1964. With ‘Only Girl,’ I want people to feel like they are part of the counterculture of 1964 when they listen to this new era of music. A counterculture that focused on love–I want to ingrain that theme of love into today’s world–a world that doesn’t have enough classic romance.”
Stephen continues to make headlines. He just wrapped a sold out spring tour, while the double platinum “Until I Found You” vaulted to #1 on the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs Chart and reached over 1 billion combined global streams on Spotify. Meanwhile, “Evangeline” continues to heat up, as it recently hit Top 40 at AAA Radio. It has generated tens of millions of streams thus far, and GRAMMY.com proclaimed, “Sanchez is riding high with a new single, the similarly retro ‘Evangeline’.” He recently performed the song live from VEVO Studio – watch HERE. Not to mention, last weekend, Stephen performed “Until I Found You” at Sofia Richie’s and Elliot Grainge’s star-studded wedding, with Sofia telling Vogue “It was so surreal, and it was such a meaningful [wedding gift from Elliot].”
In the fall, he will kick off his 32-date headline tour in Indianapolis, IN and make stops at legendary venues across the country. Due to high demand, a second show has been added in LA and D.C., where he will perform two shows at Los Angeles’ The Wiltern on November 2nd & November 3rd and two shows at D.C’s 9:30 Club on December 7th & 8th. In addition, he will make stops at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on November 17th and New York’s Terminal 5 on December 2nd.
