For the third year in a row and fourth time since 2019, deadmau5 took over Red Rocks Amphitheatre for two nights in celebration of Day Of The deadmau5, and despite the fact that it was far from his first headliner at the iconic venue, the show still felt exciting for die-hard fans and first-timers alike. The second of two nights found the legendary artist sharing the stage with electronic producer & Bite This! label-owner, Jauz as well as Good Times Ahead and Volaris.
Kicking off the night on a strong note was Volaris, followed quickly by the energetic duo, Good Times Ahead as evening began following the last late sunset of the year. By the time that Jauz hit the stage, the iconic Red Rocks was packed all the way to the top, the sun had long set, and the good times were rolling. Jauz effortlessly pumped the crowd up throughout his hour long set, ending it with his just-released remix of the fan-favorite song, “Ghosts n’ Stuff”, which led perfectly into deadmau5’s set just moments later.
Keeping up with the high energy that Jauz set, deadmau5 wasted no time barreling into an exciting set of his own, as well. Over two decades into his career, over a dozen Red Rocks shows under his belt and a die-hard fanbase, it could have been easy for deadmau5’s Joel Zimmerman to phone it in for his set, but that was the opposite of what happened. Instead, the night was filled with remixed hits, understated yet production, a guest performance from Kiesza and a one of a kind drum and bass set to end the night. While he rarely donned his festive Día de los Muertos-themed mau5 head throughout his set, the night wasn’t about gimmicks, flashy attire or over the top production. Instead, it was about hearing some good music, celebrating those who are no longer with us and enjoying yet another spectacular November deadmau5 show at Red Rocks.
