Blu DeTiger has finally announced her debut studio album, All I Ever Want Is Everything, out March 29th via Capitol Records. Today’s exciting announcement arrives alongside her playfully seductive new single, “Dangerous Game“, which arrives alongside an official video, directed by Alex Thurmond (Kehlani, TEED, Blondshell) and produced by Stink Films. The video finds Blu giving an effortlessly cool performance of the song as the four-piece band she fronts “breaks up” and is continually reinvented. Watch it now below.
“I wanted a song that portrayed this fun character who doesn’t give a fuck, who wants to go out and experience life – which is a big part of my personality,” Blu DeTiger says. She and Noah Conrad (Niall Horan, LANY) produced the track, co-writing it with Casey Smith (Jonas Brothers, Tori Kelly)
The New York City born artist picked up the bass guitar at age seven, played her first gig at the legendary punk venue CBGB soon thereafter and was a fixture in the Lower Manhattan music scene by age 17. The energy of this nightlife world manifests through her expressive vocals and the pulsating bass lines that serve as the emotional anchor of the album’s eclectic songs, which meld art pop, electroclash, funk, disco and alt-rock.
Blu will support All I Ever Want Is Everything with a North American headline tour. The run will kick off on April 25 at The Sinclair in Boston, MA and include shows at NYC’s Irving Plaza (April 27) and the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA (May 4). Tickets go on sale today. See below for itinerary.
All I Ever Want Is Everything is a portrait of Blu at her most unstoppable and her most vulnerable, as she captures the thrillingly unpredictable process of coming into one’s own. “This album is about really enjoying the high moments in life, but also learning how to talk yourself out of the low moments and become your own best friend,” Blu says. “I want to let people know that you can feel it all and do it all. Wherever you’re at is cool.”
All I Ever Want Is Everything features co-writes from Uffie, Mayer Hawthorne, Chappell Roan, Alexander 23 and Blu’s frequent collaborator, her brother, Rex. She also teamed up with Magdalena Bay.
After building her profile opening for artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Charlie Puth and Jungle and headlining her own tours around the U.S. and Europe, Blu became one of her generation’s most sought-after bass players, lending her talents to Bleachers (with whom she appeared on Saturday Night Live), Chromeo, Olivia Rodrigo, Dominic Fike, Caroline Polachek and FLETCHER, among others. Now, the Forbes’ “30 Under 30 in Music 2023” artist is inspiring a new generation of fans to take up the bass. “My motivation as an artist is to help the younger generation find an outlet to express themselves,” Blu explains.
