Interview by Dom VigilCan you tell us a little bit about yourself for any readers who might not be familiar?I am Moscow. An entrepreneur, a singer, an artist, a storyteller and a world traveler, a troublemaker with a woman’s body and man’s mentality.
What first inspired you to get involved in music? When was it that you knew it was something you wanted to pursue?
I was raised far away from any rock circles, but from my early childhood, music was something I could always rely on. When I was around fifteen I got involved in the Russian underground music scene. Looking up to all those guys covered with tattoos, doing what they love doing all day long, – sure, it looked somewhat romantic. That was the moment I realized “I want to be one of them, I’m going to be a rockstar.”
You’ve done quite a bit of traveling in your quest to create music that you’re passionate about. What really drew you to Los Angeles?
I love traveling. I don’t get attached to places. At least, I didn’t until I moved to Los Angeles where I finally knew I belonged. I used to read about all the Sunset Strip debauchery in biographies of the bands I loved like Motley Crue or Aerosmith. The second I stood on the ground of this city, fulfilled with the history of rock’n’roll, I knew “I’m here to stay”.
Just recently, you released the music video for your first single, “Queen Of Sin.” Can you tell us a little bit about the track?
“Queen Of Sin” was written and recorded with my good friends and producers Shawn McGhee and Brian Medina. The original meaning behind the “Queen Of Sin” comes from Nietzsche’s philosophies that say that you are your own God and your own Devil, you are in charge of your own morals and deeds. So don’t be scared to listen to your own inner “Queen Of Sin”.
What was the inspiration behind the video?
For the music video, I teamed up with Dale RAGE Resteghini. I insisted on shooting it at the infamous Whisky A Go Go – the place that IS the history of music, itself.
With “Queen Of Sin” being one of the first songs that many listeners would hear from you, did you have any major goals in mind for the song?
As I mentioned earlier, I would love people to dig deeper into the “Queen Of Sin”. It makes me sad, seeing people who are so afraid of being punished, that they abandon what really makes them happy NOW, in order to follow the rules. At the end of the day, this moment is all you have. So make it count.
When can fans expect to hear some more new music?
New music is coming out soon. Another single is going to be released by the end of this month. More music, more shows, more tours. I came here and I’m not going away.
Do you have any other big plans or goals for 2016?
I don’t like to limit myself with time frames. I see my entire life doing music, going on the road, meeting new fans and people, collaborating and recording. I can only promise you, you’ll hear a lot about Moscow.
