Interview by Dom Vigil
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself for any readers who might not be familiar?
Yes, I am a singer and songwriter living in west village NYC and my family’s farm in Virginia. I love meaningful lyrics and soul revealing singers. I’ve always felt like an 80 year old black man.
What or who first inspired you to get involved in music? How has that affected the music you’re creating today?
I’ve sang in school since kindergarten . It’s the only thing I’ve ever done.
You’re currently getting ready for a busy few months with tour dates with Rodriguez throughout May, some festivals coming up later this summer and a full-length album out soon. What are you looking forward to the most in the coming months?
I’m looking forward to hearing Rodriguez play every night. He’s pure class.
You just released the music video for “Wasn’t My Time,” the first single from your upcoming album. What inspired this song?
The song was inspired by my friend who survived the 2nd of the twin towers on Sept 11th and a heavy addiction.. I took the words from conversation that we had together
When can fans expect to hear some more new music?
This month!
What are you most excited for listeners to hear on the new album?
Intimacy
How do you feel you’ve grown or evolved between your last release, Loners and these new songs?
I feel like I’ve grown as a producer and performer behind the record button. Understanding my songs and performance outside of myself
Your tour dates with Rodriguez kick off on May 17th! What can fans expect from these upcoming shows?
Yes I am very excited! My fans can expect to hear me sing my songs stripped down on my favorite guitar… A vintage Mexican nylon string guitar
Do you have any other big plans for 2017?
To fall in love 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to chat with us! Is there anything else you’d like to add?
