Emerging pop artist Ashley Brinton might only be sixteen, but she’s already creating quite a buzz in the music world. Brinton has collaborated with music producer veteran, Cory Rooney (Drake, Mariah Carey, J.Lo) and released her first track “All I Need” late last year. Now, she’s currently working on an EP and releasing new music for the world to hear, most notably, her newest video for “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love.” With a positive, upbeat vibe and a desire to be an inspiration and voice of hope for her young listeners, Brinton is well on her way to becoming a force to be reckoned with.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself for any readers who might not be familiar?
Hi! My name is Ashley Brinton, I’m 16 years old and I’m a recording artist. I currently have 3 singles out right now, “All I Need,” “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love,” and my latest single, “Slow Down.” I love what I do and I’m very excited to keep releasing new music!
What inspired you to first get involved in music? How did you know that it was something you wanted to pursue?
I’ve always had a love for music and a passion for performing. When I was little, I would always be running around singing or humming and putting on little shows for my family so I feel like music has always been in me. Singing and performing is my true passion and makes me so happy so I knew it was something I wanted to pursue for the rest of my life.
As a young artist, what would you like to be able to contribute to the music scene with your sound or message?
I really want to be an inspiration to my fans. I want to be someone that they can look up to and relate to. All of my songs spread a positive message and I really just want to spread love and positive vibes to all of my listeners.
You recently released the music video for your song, “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love.” What inspired this song?
“I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love” was inspired by a boy and a girlfriend, and the best friend of the girlfriend. The boy is a real player who cheats on his girlfriend with her best friend, but the girl really wants to fight for their love anyway. I’ve seen the situation happen first hand, and I see it all the time, so I wanted to let anyone going through it know that they are not alone.
How was the filming of the video? It looks like you got to visit some beautiful locations for it!
Filming “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love” was incredible! We were in the desert, which was amazing. It looked like a picture and didn’t seem real. I love how beautifully everything turned out.
With “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love” and “Slow Down” out now, can fans expect to hear some more new music soon? I hear an EP is in the works!
My EP is in the works! It will be released later this year, but in the meantime my fans can expect more singles to keep dropping. I love releasing as much content to my fans as soon as possible, so we have some very exciting things to look forward to.
Did you have any goals in mind when working on these new songs?
My goal with any music I make is to just make people happy whenever they hear it. I truly want to inspire and empower my fans. I hope when they listen to my music they can feel all of that.
What would you like listeners to take away from your music?
When people listen to my music I want them to have a good time or be able to feel better. I feel like all of my songs are so relatable and today, especially, it is so important to make sure people feel like they aren’t in something alone.
Do you have any other big plans for the rest of 2017? What can fans be on the lookout for?
Well, I don’t want to give away all of my secrets, but my fans can definitely look out for live shows and my EP for the rest of 2017.
Thank you for taking the time to talk with us! Is there anything else you’d like to add?
