Jacob Cade has been hooked on music from an early age. Inspired by artists such as Guns n’ Roses and Led Zeppelin and brought up by a musical family, it’s no surprise that writing and performing quickly became his passion. Now, the nineteen year old singer and rock & roller is well on his way to stardom. With his newest single, “What’s Your Problem?!” co-written with Rachel Bolan of Skid Row out now and plans to release even more music (including a new album) soon, 2018 promises to be one hell of a year for Cade.
Jacob Cade has a handful of shows coming up across Colorado throughout the spring and summer – get to know him and listen to “What’s Your Problem?!” now below!
Interview by Dom Vigil
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself for anyone who might be hearing you for the first time?
My music is a mixture of Guns n Roses, Led Zeppelin, and a modern new twist to it that has come from my love for artists like Michael Jackson, Prince, Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars.
Do you remember who or what it was that first inspired you to get involved with music? Where did that initial spark come from?
I remember that I was at a friend’s house and was introduced to Guitar Hero. I became interested in the music and the little animated guitar player/crowd. I got home and watched the first thing that had a guitar on it. This was Song Remains the Same by Led Zeppelin. Seeing Jimmy Page for the first time absolutely hooked me.
Do you feel that the music scene in Colorado has helped to shape you as a musician at all? What are some of your favorite things about the local music scene?
I believe it has definitely helped me become who I am. It gave me places to play at a very young age. There has also been lots of supporters of me and my music which I am forever grateful for.
You ended 2017 with the release of your new single, “What’s Your Problem?!” – What inspired this track?
I wrote this track with Rachel Bolan of Skid Row. Him and I decided to write a song about the people in your life that always seem to have a problem with the way you are. I was in high school at the time, I had many stories of people that had a problem with the way I was. So I pulled from stuff like that to fuel this writing venture.
With “What’s Your Problem?!” out now, can fans expect to hear some more new music soon? What have you been working on lately?
Well I have an album all recorded and ready to go! We are in the midst of releasing a new single very soon. As of now, the album will continue to be released in singles.
You’ve got quite a few shows coming up across Colorado throughout the spring and summer! What can fans expect from these upcoming performances?
Fans can expect a very fun and energetic show that is raw rock n roll. Come ready to be amazed and have your jaws dropped.
If someone is seeing you live for the first time, what would you want them to take away from your set?
I would want them to take away a sense of amazement and a free spirit.
Do you have any big goals in mind for 2018?
My main goal for 2018 is to play as many shows as possible and put out new music to the world. I want to push the limits even further.
Thank you for taking the time to chat with us! Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you so much for having me! I really, really appreciate it!
