I want to start off by talking about your upcoming show at Red Rocks this month! This is going to be the third annual Rage Rocks and your fifth time playing at the venue. What makes Red Rocks the perfect place for a Lettuce show?
Red Rocks is sacred ground. Being immersed in nature with your friends and family, and having the beautiful reverberant landscape magnifying the sounds and sights makes you feel really really excellent. It’s a great place to be.
If someone has never been to a Rage Rocks show, or might be seeing you live for the first time at this one, what can they expect from the upcoming show?
One thing you can expect is our visual artist Blake “Red Lightning” Addington to put on an absolute spectacle of a visual presentation, with massive amounts of love, consciousness, hard work and consideration put into the evening. Together as one team we will improvise and follow the feelings and flow of the energy we find out in Morrison on June 8th. We are all looking forward to it very much.
What would you like fans to walk away thinking or feeling after everything is said and done?
An undeniable sense of unity.
Your upcoming summer dates are in support of your recently released album, Witches Stew. What has been the highlight of playing these songs live so far?
Sometimes we do it. Sometimes we do it to it. Sometimes we just chill. No telling. It’s Good to have freedom and choices to make every day.
Now that it has been out for a few months, what are some of your favorite things about Witches Stew?
It’s scary and new. Quite psychedelic. It feels great to put something out with the 6 of us doing something different just to show our love for a lot of different styles.
Absolutely, we are always adding to our catalogue and are working on a new album as we speak. We have to play new material and keep it fresh and crispy for you and ourselves, respectfully.
What does the rest of 2018 have in store for Lettuce?
Red Rocks is June 8, 2018. After that when we rage through the summer and play a bunch of shows and make a ton of new friends. You can check out all our upcoming dates at http://www.lettucefunk.com/
Thank you for taking the time to chat with us! Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to speak about Lettuce, it is truly our dharma and we know that we are doing what the universe wants from us. We appreciate the Lettucehead Family for helping us stay on the path that brings us all up to a higher happier place together. Massive respect!
