Slovakian post-hardcore quintet, landless just released their new EP, Moonflower and are currently gearing up for an exciting summer with shows planned throughout the month of June and a promise of more to come soon. Since breaking into the scene with their debut EP, Bluemist in 2015, the band has been hard at work building a fanbase across central Europe with their impressive musicianship, an energetic live show and an unerring work ethic. The result is Moonflower, a release four years in the making and a perfect example of the band’s growth since Bluemist.
With Moonflower out now, we caught up with landless to chat about their busy 2019 so far, touring plans and more. Read the full interview and listen to the EP now below.

Can you tell us a little bit about Landless for anyone who might not be familiar?
We’ve been since 2014. Basically, we went out with one single only and based on feedback we got we decided to record the very first EP in 2015 (Bluemist). Next up we had our first official music video for single “Wellspring”. Another single, “Connections” went out early in 2016 and out new EP ‘Moonflower’ is out now, on Famined Records.
You guys just released EP, Moonflower last month! What are you most excited for fans to hear on the release?
We’re so excited. Cannot wait for what people will think/say. In a comparison with our first EP we totally changed our approach in regards to making new songs. It’s more technical, but pretty simple at the same time. Everybody should find something they look for in general. Acoustic versions, energy, romantic vibes as well.
Did you have any major goals in mind when you started working on Moonflower? Anything you wanted to accomplish with it?
We just wanted to come out with something that defines us at this stage. Something a bit different from what we have been playing. Adding more clean vocals is a step forward for sure (one of most significant ones).
How do you feel you’ve grown as artists between Bluemist and Moonflower?
It’ s been 4 years already. We have been traveling and playing ever since the first record, so there’s been a lot of growth. You cannot get satisfied though, otherwise you become complacent and that can quickly drag you down. We want to be the best version of ourselves considering musical point of view or even personal one. Hope you guys will see the progress as well.
You kicked off 2019 with the release of your new single, “Blooming Mind”, followed by “Connections” and “Calm Nights” from the EP. What would you like fans to take away from these new songs?
All of them should reflect on the positive attitude for the most part. A lot of people get back to us saying they got really motivated just by listening to our stuff. That’s just mind-blowing. We cannot even describe those feelings and it’s what drives us forward even more.
Were there any challenges you had to overcome when working on Moonflower?
We were pushing as much as we could. Each and every one of us. It’s necessary when you want to have it in line and live up to your expectations. We’re really happy how production turned out. We feel like it has everything we wanted, so the goal was achieved here for sure.
With the album out now, do you have any plans to hit the road or any shows coming up? What’s next?
We’re hitting the road right on the following day after the release. It starts on Saturday. Basically, couple of shows through our homeland in Slovakia, followed by couple of shows in Czech Republic and also one in Germany. We are also supporting Our Last Night, which is really a dream come true.
Do you have any other big goals for 2019?
Play as many shows as we can. Make all people who attend our show as happy as humanly possible. Also meet new people, make new friends etc. Of course, we’ll be working on new songs too.
Thanks for taking the time to chat with us! Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Big thank you guys! Not just for giving us a chance to present ourselves, but for the support too! Our new EP ‘Moonflower’ is out now. Feel free to check it out, give a like on Facebook, Instagram or just few streams on Spotify. Thanks a lot and take care.
