No Sleep Records is proud to announce that Pittsburgh indie-punk band Run Forever has officially joined the label’s growing family. The band is currently in the studio recording an EP and a full-length album with Matt Talbot of the band Hum at Earth Analog in Champaign, IL, with additional music to be recorded with Kyle Gilbride (Swearin, Waxahatchee) at Wherever Audio.
“No Sleep are some of the most accommodating, hospitable, and down to earth people we have worked with,” Run Forever’s Anthony Heubel says of signing to the label. “We’re looking forward to continuing to put out records together.”
Having worked together on various compilations and a split with Adventures, Run Forever and No Sleep Records’ partnership is a natural fit and one that was destined to happen at some point.
“Run Forever have been some of the best and most genuine people we have ever had the pleasure of working with, and we could not be more excited to announce that they are now officially part of the family,” adds No Sleep president Chris Hansen. “Look for big things from them.”
The band will spend the next few weeks recording an EP that is scheduled for release this coming winter, and a full-length record, which is due out later next year.
Run Forever was formed on a whim by friends Heubel (guitar/vocals), Cassie Staub (bass) and Corey Wolfram (guitar) following a long east coast road trip in 2008. After the unexpected passing of Wolfram in 2009, Run Forever paid tribute to their fallen bandmate with their critically heralded debut full-length The Devil, and Death, and Me in 2010. Adding Jeremy Sessa (guitar) and Tom Moran (drums), the band embraced a new appreciation and outlook on life and spent the next few years releasing a handful of 7” records and eventually a follow-up album, Settling, in 2012.
Drawing comparisons to everyone from Cursive to The Menzingners, Run Forever’s music is raw and powerful with driving punk riffs that cleanse the soul while their lyrics are honest and direct, connecting with fans on a personal level. For their next album, the band is looking to expand their sound even further with what will undoubtedly be one of their best records yet.
“The songs on the EP and LP are a lot more musically diverse than anything we’ve done before,” Heubel adds. “We wanted to focus on the production of each song and experiment by recording some of them with Matt in an analog environment and some with Kyle via his mobile studio.”
