XERXES WIELD THEIR “KNIFE” AT NOISEY.COM

    By Dom VigilSeptember 18, 2014

Critically heralded avant-garde rock band Xerxes has unveiled a new groove laden track called “Knife” today at Noisey.com. The song is featured on the band’s upcoming, highly anticipated darkhorse record of the fall, Collision Blonde, which is due out on October 21st from No Sleep Records. The record is available now for pre-order at iTunes (w/instant download of “Chestnut Street”) and from No Sleep Records at https://nosleeprecords.com/product/7316.

Xerxes continues to impress fans and critics with another intense track that melds throwback goth-rock guitars with contemporary post-hardcore. Lyrically speaking, singer Calvin Philley’s subject matter fits the music’s brooding style.

“You ever seen someone you love and respect snort a ton of Xanax? And then try to stab you when you offer them a ride home?” – Calvin Philley

The new song is featured on the band’s upcoming record Collision Blonde, which also features recently released tracks “Collision Blonde,” “Chestnut Street” and “Exit 123.”

Xerxes will kick off a fall tour in support of the new album in October, which will include a record release show at No Sleep Records’ CMJ showcase, “No Sleep till CMJ II.”
