Lieutenant is the debut solo project from Nate Mendel (bassist for Foo Fighters, Sunny Day Real Estate) and it’s his first venture fronting his own band on vocals and guitar.  The new record features emotionally charged tracks like “Rattled,” “Belle Epoque,” and “Believe The Squalor blending his past work with current influences.

“An impressive marriage of Sunny Day’s intimate soul-purging and Foos’ powerful guitar heft, it’s a masterstroke of understated college rock that, from the deliciously fuzzy ‘Rattled’ to sun-splashed, Shins-ish stomper ‘The Place You Wanna Go’, urges you to take life by the scruff of the neck.” –

Lieutenant will kick off a U.S. tour later this month with dates starting at SXSW in Austin, TX. Tickets for the upcoming tour are on sale now.
