Billboard is premiering “Enemies” today, the first single from the forthcoming full-lengthParty Adjacent, from Dan Andriano‘s solo project, Dan Andriano In the Emergency Room. The record, which is the second-full length from Dan Andriano In the Emergency Room is due out via Asian Man Records and Xtra Mile Recordings on July 17, 2015. Complete with a lyrics video created entirely by Andriano himself, Billboard said of the Men at Work and Smiths-influenced new track “You can hear the ’80s influence… especially in the airy first verse, before the delicate guitar stabs coalesce into a big, thumping chorus.” Pre-order for Party Adjacent is now available via Asian Man Records.
Dan Andriano In The Emergency Room will embark on a co-headlining tour with Jeff Rosenstock this summer, kicking off July 28 in Baltimore (all tour dates below). The two musicians recently teamed up to have Jeff, formerly of Bomb the Music Industry, produce Party Adjacent. Andriano is also joined by a backing band of Jeff, Kevin Higuchi of The Jeff Rosenstock Band and Mike Huguenor of Hard Girls on Party Adjacent to fantastic effect. With influences ranging from Thin Lizzy to Elvis Costello to Billy Bragg, Party Adjacent is obviously one of those rare records that is built by an artist’s singular vision and augmented by exactly the right collaborative team.
“The Emergency Room started as something for me to do with songs I had been writing that didn’t seem to have a place on Alkaline Trio records,” explains Andriano. Started when he found himself living in Florida, he released his debut full-length Hurricane Seasonon Asian Man in 2011 and toured troubadour-style around the release with just an acoustic guitar on the US and European legs of the Revival Tour. Party Adjacent marks the beginning of a new chapter to the Emergency Room story.
