The Prelude Press: This year marks the second annual Borracho Bash at Summit Music Hall! What are you most excited about this year?
Lola Black: For us it is actually our only headlining show for the Denver home team so far this year so we are pretty excited about being able to pull out some of our older material as well as fan favorites and new stuff. It will be fun to have more time to just spend with our crowd.
What inspired you to start the Borracho Bash last year?
Borracho was our first song to really make waves on the radio in Denver specifically KBPI so when we wanted to do a festival type thing to bump up the Denver scene it only seemed appropriate to call it Borracho Bash!
Now, this show is packed with a bunch of great Denver bands – is there anyone specific that the crowd should show up early for to check out? Who are you really excited to see this year?
All the bands on the bill are awesome. The opening two acts are some of the younger bands in Denver that are just getting out there so it is really cool to have a really good mix of the old faves and tomorrows new faves.
What can fans expect from your performance this year? Do you have anything special planned for the show?
We are really on top of our game right now so fans can expect one of the best shows we have done. With having a bit more time being that it is a headliner we always come full of surprises.
What would you like people to be able to take away from this show, or any of your live performances?
Knowing that they got a big bang for the buck. Especially on this show 10 bands for 10.67 is a deal you just can’t beat. Not to mention this line up is really packed with the top dogs in town. As for us personally we want our fans to know that we put it all out on the table. By the end of the show we have giving you 110%. That is how it should be every time!!!
You just recently finished up a bunch of dates on The Loudest Month In Rock festival series, too! How were those shows?
Those shows were ridiculously good. It is whole different ball game when you are playing with the top metal and rock acts in the country. It really makes you prove if you can compete on that level. On over half of the shows we got moved up to main stages so I would say that we accomplished what we set out to do!
Did you have a favorite festival to play? What was the coolest experience?
KC Rockfest was probably the coolest. It is the single largest 1 day rock festival in the country. 52k people in attendance. It was really a sight to be seen. It was super rad to watch the headliner Rob Zombie from above the stage and look out and see that massive crowd and to be able to say we were a part of it! It was also our last show for the loudest month so that was a really cool way to end.
Besides the Borracho Bash, what is the rest of your 2015 looking like? Do you have any other big plans in the works?
We are releasing a new video soon for our new single ‘Sorrow and Sin’ we have shows coming up in Sturgis and Vegas as well as some really cool Colorado shows with Pop Evil, Davey Suicide, and the KBPI car show. pretty exciting summer!!!
Thanks for taking the time to chat with us! Is there anything else you’d like to add?
We hope to see a bunch of faces on Saturday at Borracho Bash and thank you for interviewing us!!!
