Selfish Things Release Video For “Spooky Action at a Distance”

    By Dom VigilJuly 30, 2015

Selfish Things have released the music video for their first single, “Spooky Action at a Distance.” The single is an anthem for the bullied kid in the back of the classroom – it’s about searching for the truth, letting go, longing to be loved, and finding yourself.

Watch the video below, and purchase “Spooky Action at a Distance” on iTunes HERE.

The band had this to say on the video:

“A lot of what brought this song on has to do with ignorant perspectives pertaining to the linearity of time – we measure the value of those around us inadequately as a result of the way in which we perceive the passage of days, months, and years.  Moments can last forever and months can end in seconds. I had put in too much effort and been fucked over too many times by the person(s) who inspired ‘Spooky Action.’ They allowed me to realize that I valued their presence simply because they’d been there for a while – not because they were continuing to contribute anything positive or meaningful to my life.

    Space bends and friendships end.

When Christoph (the director) and I decided to shoot the video, we moved forward with the goal of creating a visual representation of the concepts presented above. Variable frame rates and duplicated imagery all tie into the idea that time is as fluid as water.”
