“Dragging Hell has been a long time coming for us,” says vocalist/guitarist Dan Thomson. “And it’s almost a relief to have these songs coming out, in the best way possible. The time that surrounded the writing of these songs was one of the darkest times in my life, and it definitely comes out in the songs, both lyrically and musically.”
Hailing from the Canadian hotbed for rock music, Toronto, Sparrows have making a name for themselves across North America for the last five years. The band’s striking amalgam of intense, post-hardcore and ambient post-rock, combined with a refined ability to craft memorable songs that increasingly push the boundaries of their sound has helped them stand out amongst their colleagues. Having performed on countless stages over the years, including SXSW, NXNE, CMW and Ottawa Bluesfest, Sparrows has emerged as seasoned vets who become more intriguing with each release.
