LA-based indie-synth duo band Sad Robot have revealed their official music video for the single “I Want You Bad,” which premiered yesterday exclusively at NYLON. The video was directed by award-winning husband and wife duo known as Dream Team, and also screened at the TCL Chinese Theatre as part of the prestigious 11th Annual Hollyshorts Film Festival on August 21st. The team’s past credits include names like Colplay, P. Diddy, Oscar De La Renta, Adidas, Carolina Herrera, Smashbox Cosmetics, and more. The buzzing Sad Robot is fresh off the release of their new album Après Moi, Le Déluge, which has seen rave reviews from sources like FUSE, Diffuser, PopMatters,Purevolume, Baeble Music, and several others. The band also recently performed at Echo Park Rising, and has been keeping busy with a handful of West Coast tour dates.
“‘I Want You Bad’ is one of our favorite songs off this album and rapidly becoming a fan favorite,” explains the band in their recent interview with NYLON. “The song lyrically describes that raw and terrifying feeling of falling for someone. The desire to be with this person and yet the fear of fully letting yourself go…to give yourself completely to them. There is an underlying longing and a heartbreaking desire in ‘I Want You Bad’ that we really wanted to convey. Every song off this album is from a personal experience and this one definitely has a special memory. Most of these songs were rewritten and changed so much over the duration of the recording process, but this one seemed to stay closer to the original version than any of the other songs. It seemed fitting to keep it simple and sweet.”
