Richmond, VA’s Positive No are thrilled to share the exclusive album stream of Glossa, their full length debut, this week via The AV Club. Due out this Friday, September 18th onNegative Fun / Little Black Cloud Records, the quartet will celebrate the highly anticipated album’s release Friday night at Gallery 5 in Richmond, VA, a release party a long time in the making.
The AV Club, speaking about the album noted, “Having braved a number of lineup changes, and two of its founding members having faced harsh health scares during its existence, that its debut full-length, Glossa, is actually being released this week is a triumph. The record, which sees Positive No pull influence from bands like Velocity Girl and, at times, Silversun Pickups, is a bouncy indie-pop LP that isn’t shy about digging into fuzzy riffs.”
Positive No have extended their tour dates to include a pair of shows with Beach Slang in late October. Check out all the dates below.

Positive No recently premiered their “Heavy Metal Parking Lot” influenced video “Pedal Through” via NPR Music (in addition to singles via Stereogum and Brooklyn Vegan). Speaking about the record and lead single, NPR said, “Positive No’s debut album,Glossa, undeniably comes from the ’90s, with an ear for counter-intuitive melodies that pop in unexpected places. “Pedal Through,” in particular, has all the beefy weirdness of Polvo — but is, in the end, a winsome pop song that gets stuck in your head for days.”
