Self proclaimed “millennial rockers” The Drama State are gearing up to make a name for themselves with their upcoming sophomore full-length album. The Midwest quintet pressed ‘The Quiet Life’ – a 3-song summer sampler – which they shared with fans along the 2015 Vans Warped Tour. Today The Drama State are excited to share the official music video for their standout track from the sampler, “Pool House Envy,” which features AJ Perdomo (ex-The Dangerous Summer). “Pool House Envy” was inspired by something everyone experiences – “their first love,” says vocalist Ryan Diskey. The video holds special meaning to the band, taking place at the local Drive-In, with guitarist/vocalist Ronnie Ish sharing,
“We filmed in the town I grew up in, Coldwater, MI. When discussing the storyline, we wanted to shoot at a location where love is found and memories are made. For me growing up, it was at The Capri Drive-In. (I probably fell in love there 39 times from age 8-18, and was dumped by all… by the end of the movie.) I spent so many weekends staying up late and getting lost in those screens. Movies are the ultimate escape from reality, and you share the feelings with the one(s) you’re with. In the video, it focuses on the couple as if they’re the only two watching, lost in each other and the movie, like most couples are. In this case, they wanted to end their relationship exactly where it began; the drive-in. The storyline is playful, romantic, mysterious, and in my opinion magical.”
