Canadian noise-rockers Greys premiered a new track and accompanying music video today for their track “The Voyeur” off their upcoming Repulsion EP, outOctober 30, 2015 via Carpark/Buzz Records. PAPER MAG called the song, “the catchiest thing they’ve done yet but certainly not lacking in guitar-grime”.
Repulsion is now available for pre-order from Carpark in the US and from Buzz in Canada as well as on iTunes and is limited to 300 physical copies. Greys will be playing atExploding in Sound‘s CMJ showcase on October 16 at Palisades in Brooklyn, before heading out on tour with Indian Handcrafts (all tour dates below).
Repulsion sees Greys stretching their muscles, experimenting with dynamics and embracing melody while still retaining their knack for raucous squalls of guitar feedback. The change of scenery comes courtesy of esteemed Montreal recording studio Hotel2Tango where the band recorded with Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor) to create a more spacious, analog sound.
The band released their debut full-length If Anything in 2014 via Carpark and Buzz Records to hearty praise from outlets such as Rolling Stone, The Line of Best Fit, Wall Street Journal, and Stereogum. They spent much of the following six months touring extensively throughout North America and Europe, opening for Death From Above 1979 and playing festivals such as Iceland’s Airwaves and Primavera Club.
