Ahead of their UK tour next month, The Fratellis have unveiled the video for new single “Impostors (Little By Little)”, out November 6th on Cooking Vinyl.
The single, taken from Top 20 album Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied, has been added to the playlist at BBC Radio 2. Its accompanying visual was shot on original 8mm film.
Director Edward John Drake, explains: “8mm holds an energy unlike no other format – it’s in constant motion, capturing details through a halcyon, forgiving eye. Watching 8mm feels like reliving a memory – it’s fuzzy, often slipping out of focus allowing out minds to wander even as we watch. ‘Impostors’ captures The Fratellis best, memory driven – we feel the lyrics coming from real experiences, and with true 8mm film we find the same essence of spontaneity and honesty.”
Recorded and produced in LA with Tony Hoffer – who produced their debut album smashCostello Music, Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied is the sound of a band at the peak of their powers, an exhilarating trip that oozes confidence and verve, with “Impostors (Little By Little)” capturing the bright, vibrant Californian charm which radiates throughout the album. Its playful riff, paired with the band’s warm vocal harmonies, show signs that are reminiscent of their 2006 debut.
In the lead up to the release, the band appeared on ITV Weekend with Aled Jones and played a session for Dermot O’Leary on BBC Radio 2. With three sell-out album release shows and a summer of playing festivals already under their belts, the band just wrapped up their U.S tour earlier this month and begiu a full UK tour in November.
