Vanessa Carlton announces an exclusive stream of her newest album Liberman on Entertainment Weekly. This is Vanessa’s fifth studio album set for release in North America via Dine Alone Records this Friday, October 23, 2015. PRESS HERE to stream her entire album!
The ten songs on the upcoming album reflect Vanessa’s current state of mind since moving from NYC to Nashville, marrying husband John McCauley (Deer Tick) and having a baby girl. The simple instrumentation mixed with her wistful vocals and poignant lyrics bring you into her world and showcase a new side to this accomplished songwriter.
Vanessa recently premiered the official music video for her single “Operator” on Billboard that was directed by Daniel Henry (Jack White, Kurt Vile) in Vanessa’s new hometown of Nashville, TN, watch below:
“With this video, Daniel basically reversed the age old story of kids running away and instead had the parents run away,” says Carlton. “The kids are left to do what they want in this big house. The older sister takes charge the best she can. It’s done in a cinematic and slightly abstract way.”
Vanessa will also be hitting the road this fall in support of the album and teased fans with an album trailer, PRESS HERE. Fans are also now able to pre-order an autographed copy of Liberman(standard, deluxe) exclusively on Vanessa’s website that can be bundled with tickets to the upcoming tour, PRESS HERE for more info. A vinyl edition of the album will be available end of November.
Fans were given a first taste of her new album with the EP Blue Pool, which included tracks “Take It Easy” and “Blue Pool” that will be featured on the upcoming album as well as “Operator (Live Living Room Session)” and “Nothing Where Something Used To Be (Live Living Room Session)” to be featured on the deluxe version.
