Vanessa Carlton unveiled her latest video for the song “House of Seven Swords” which gives the viewer an intimate look into Vanessa’s life as a new mother at her new home in Nashville, Tennessee directed by Daniel Henry (Jack White, Kurt Vile). The track is off her widely acclaimed NEW studio album Liberman (standard, deluxe) which is currently out in North America via Dine Alone Records
Watch “House Of Seven Swords” below:
“It was Daniel’s idea to film me playing in the house and capturing everyday moments,” says Vanessa Carlton. “Coincidentally my Rhodes is in the baby’s room so none of it was staged. Though the premise of this song was inspired by a tarot card and my brother graduating from college and moving to New York to carve out a life for himself, I think Daniel saw this song reflecting the home that my husband and I have created for ourselves and for our daughter. Even if you write a song for someone else it is still going to reveal something about the writer. I guess I forgot about that.”
Vanessa also announced the second leg of her U.S. tour that will take place at the top of 2016 in support of Liberman, PRESS HERE for more info. New tour dates in include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Houston and more.
Liberman, Vanessa’s fifth studio album, features ten songs that reflect her current state of mind since moving from NYC to Nashville, marrying husband John McCauley (Deer Tick) and having a baby girl. The simple instrumentation mixed with her wistful vocals and poignant lyrics bring you into her world and showcase a new side to this accomplished songwriter. This is her best album to date.
