Los Angeles based alternative rock band, LANY, is excited to announce their spring headline tour in support of their new EP Make Out (Polydor Records),which is available now on iTunes, PRESS HERE. The band shared the news exclusively with Interview Magazine as well a small taste of their live show with their live stripped down performance video of the track “ILYSB,”
“Touring – there’s no substitute for it. We love playing for people,” vocalist Paul Klein says to Interview Magazine. “Our songs are super polished on the recording, everything’s nice and clean and tight, but when we show up, things get really intense, really emotional.”
Tickets for LANY’s headline tour go on sale this Friday and before then, LANY will also be opening for Troye Sivan on select dates of his US tour in February and March 2016, as well as for Ellie Goulding on her UK arena tour in March 2016. PRESS HERE for details. The band will also be performing at Bonnaroo, Sasquatch!, Electric Forest, Shaky Knees, WayHome Music & Arts Festival and more to be announced.
When the LA-based trio LANY (comprised of Paul Klein, Les Priest and Jake Goss) first came together in 2014 their only aim was to work on a couple of tracks together, demo them, and have some fun in the process. It was just a group of friend’s hanging out in a bedroom playing around with instruments, and they soon realized that there was something special there.
The band makes music that aims an arrow at your heart. Writing beautiful songs with swashes of synth, spare percussion, echoes of prime 1980s FM pop, of early-1990s R&B, of new-wave electronica. Combining melody and lyrics to put down roots in your head, and capture your heart. Creating songs that are devastating and beautiful, in a way that you can’t quite explain. It’s no wonder that in just a year they reached #1 on hypemachine, #39 on Spotify’s 100 emerging artists at SXSW and have toured with Twin Shadow, Tove Styrke, X Ambassadors, and Halsey and recently performed at Lollapalooza.
With their current EP Make Out, frontman Paul opens up on debut songs like “Walk Away” and “ILYSB” with vocals that are glacial while engaging, and draw you into their heartbreak manifesto; and a vibe reminiscent of the 80s on tracks like “Made in Hollywood.” The band first introduced the new EP with the track “Kiss,” which premiered on Consequence of Sound, PRESS HERE to listen.
