The rising Minnesota indie-pop outfit, Whosah has been catching the ears of many across college radio nationwide, leaving fans new and old hungry for more. Today, the band is proud to announce the release of their sophomore EP Work, set for 3/11/16. Check out the DIY moving pictures video for the EP’s debut track “Ghost Town” here. Work is a collection of four songs that embody the common struggle and journey we can all relate to. The band states:
“Work finds its home in a balance between the toils of labor and the field of dreams. Sometimes the drive to find success leads us to miss how good life is right now, and other times our fear of the unknown leads us to miss out on how good life could be. Every note, rhythm, and word in this record was brought with that balance in mind. The project digs into the muddied, murky parts of everyday life and asks, what am I missing here? What should I be thankful for? What should I be longing for? We hope that our journey through those questions inspires our listeners to ask those same of themselves. Our dream is that they’ll find the same joy we’ve found in savoring that process of discovery ourselves.” – Spencer Grimes
Produced by Nashville’s Chase Coy, the EP’s first single “Ghost Town” was released in November of 2015. Whosah’s sound has historically been characterized by dense layers of backing tracks, this new project spearheads the band’s effort toward recreating and expanding upon those studio layers with live instruments. Work sets out to take this synth-pop expression a step further by visually interpreting as many elements off the record as possible right in front of the audience.
