LA-based alt-pop artist NØVE has released a new single entitled “Taboo,” to be featured on his debut EP Dark Paradise, due out this spring. The track premiered exclusively at Surviving the Golden Age, who calls it “powerful while still being sexy.”
Listen to the song below:
NØVE began in early 2015 as a collaboration between himself – a Venice-raised surfer – and and producer Johnny What (one third of the LA-based trio BRÅVES , and sort of happened by accident. Having worked together for a few years prior on various projects, Wallace unexpectedly brought some new material to Johnny while the two were in the studio one day, and they were immediately off and running in a new direction. “All of a sudden, my canvas became infinite,” explains NØVE. “With my background being more focused in alternative music, I didn’t expect to be writing electronic and R&B songs with such ease and fluidity.” With a dark past in his rear view, NØVE’s music tells the stories of a “drug war” veteran growing up in the illusive dark paradise of Venice.
NØVE will release more new tracks in the coming weeks leading up to the new EP. For more information on NØVE, be sure to follow him on Facebook, Twitter, and Soundcloud.
