Matt Pond PA has teamed up with Louisville’s Against The Grain Brewery to create a Matt Pond Pale Ale which is available now. The single-hop pale ale is mild and very crisp with juicy tangerine, earthy floral aroma and character. Matt Pond Pale Ale pairs well with wings, pizza and Matt Pond PA. The band has shared a video that captures a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Matt Pond Pale Ale, which can be seen now below.
Tonight at 8pm EST, Matt Pond and Chris Hansen will perform on Facebook Live, playing songs from Still Summer and answering the questions about the Pale Ale.
About the collaboration Against The Grain Brewery’s Sam Cruz, Managing Member and Visionary says:
“I’ve been a fan of Matt Pond for years. I jumped at the opportunity to work with him. We were connected through a mutual friend and met up while he was in town visiting. After sharing a couple of beers and having a friendly race with the LMPD in our souped-up Mustang, (which we won), I knew we were kindred spirits! This collaboration embodies the respect I have for his music and the connection craft beer inherently has with music. Matt Pond Pale is a grassy summer pale ale brewed with his new album, Still Summer, in mind. We’re honored to work with him and excited to share it with the world.”
matt pond PA has also announced a fall tour in support of the album which will make stops in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and more. Upcoming shows are listed below with more dates to be announced in the coming weeks. Matt Pond says:
“I had a root canal yesterday, so I might be a little wobbly tonight. But that’s just a hiccup in the long journey of our shared existence. There are obviously bigger hurdles out there in the world — if anyone reading this has been hurt, disrupted or displaced by Harvey, you are welcome to be on the guest list for any of our Texas shows. (Please write a message to [email protected]and we’ll make it so. You are most definitely on our minds as we hope for you all to persevere and eventually triumph.)”
Today matt pond PA has revealed their cover of The Cars’ “Drive.” The track premiered at Cover Me and is streaming to share at SoundCloud. About the cover Matt Pond says, Whenever ‘Drive’ comes on the car radio, I gently crush the accelerator and slow-dance with myself.” He adds, “It’s the libretto of my early teenage life: erotic regret. The older girls in knowing cardigans, gods that could pulverize me with their eyes. Lipstick kisses from outer space. The brilliant brains, the perfect hair, with just a trace of lace at the top of their socks. Whereas I was simply a strange, subterranean humanoid with an asymmetrical haircut. Let’s Go, Moving in Stereo. The Cars did it all in the old ways of new waves. They were the highs and lows of New England summers, the blinding sunlight and the broken hearts that had never seen to speak up. I sat alone in my basement listening to Drive years before I ever got the nerve to deferentially inquire, ‘Who’s gonna drive you home tonight?”’
