Envy On The Coast have released the video for “Virginia Girls”; the most recent single from their 2017 Equal Vision Records EP, Ritual. The video is an ode to the boredom that accompanies a suburban upbringing and the resulting mischief that young adults often find themselves lost in as they cope with the frustration of feeling trapped. Ryan Hunter and Brian Byrne wrote the treatment for, directed, cast, shot and edited the “Virginia Girls” video.
According to Byrne, “We’ve had a lot of long talks about the trappings of suburbia and this song and video presented a great opportunity to visually present some of those ideas”. You can watch the video now below and stream the whole Ritual EP on Spotify.
“Virginia Girls” is released in correlation with the announcement that Envy On The Coast will be embarking on a 4 day holiday tour of the northeastern United States this December with special guest Rare Futures and more support acts to be named later. The tour will kick off at the Middle East Downstairs in Boston on December 20th and stop in Asbury Park and Brooklyn before culminating in a hometown show at Mulcahy’s in Wantaugh, Long Island on December 23rd. All ticket info can be found here.
“We’ve decided to close this year out with a short run of holiday shows on the East Coast. Our good friend Billy Rymer (Dillinger Escape Plan), who played drums on ‘Ritual’, will be joining us behind the kit. These will likely be our only live appearances until the spring of 2018 so come join us and our friends in Rare Futures, and Save Face as we spread some holiday cheer just in time for the apocalypse. See you there.” – Envy On The Coast
