Singer-songwriter Kylie Hughes is adding Director to her resume with the release of her self-directed music video for “Leave It Alone”. The spooky video takes Kylie out of her comfort zone and into a dark and edgy mystery land full of creative surprises at every turn. Watch the video now below.
On the intense creative process, Hughes shared, “I’ve been reflecting nonstop since we’ve wrapped on what a project this particular video was for me, personally and artistically. This is my first real stab at directing and taking 100% control of my vision. This video was completely all of MY hands on deck. I’m directing, set designing, art directing and performing in 95% of the shots.”
Although this is her first self-directed video, Kylie is no stranger to creative visuals, having released a tribute to cult-classic Talladega Nights with the music video for “Heat,” which premiered exclusively with Huffington Post. These infectious tracks come from Kylie’s self-titled album, released earlier this year. Kylie split her time between Nashville and Los Angeles, crafting a collection of songs that bring fans through the highs and lows of her life, showing an artist deeply rooted in knowing exactly what she wants. Working with top-notch producers like Ben Jaffe, Mike Shimshack, Mark McKee, Brent Bourgeois, and Brandon Friesen, Kylie Hughes bares it all on her self-titled album. “This album is 100% authentically me,” Kylie remarked, “For the first time I’m really, really proud of what I’ve created and curated.”
