Chase Cohl has released her latest single“Love Is A Prison.” The track, which begins with a folky harmonica-infused introduction, continues with a timeless country twang punctuated by lithe slide guitar and banjo. Listen to it now below!
While the song appears upbeat, with its catchy melody, the lyrics portray a sense of vulnerability – according to Chase, “This song started as my sort of attempt at a classic country song: Girl falls for boy from the wrong side of the tracks. However, it evolved into something more personal, of feeling powerless to love. It felt like a sweet blanket for a real issue, the idea of being stuck in an unhappy relationship but realizing you’d be even unhappier without that person.”
Vogue-endorsed Littledoe designer Chase Cohl is gearing up to release a full-length album in the coming months (produced by Loren Humphry and recorded at Valentine Studios in LA). More details to be announced soon!
