In anticipation of their new album Dead Reckoning, Philadelphia rockers Soraia have released their new song, “Wandering Star,” an anthem of loss and destiny imagining the singer as Jeff Buckley’s girlfriend as she experiences his passing. Dead Reckoning will be out on October 13, 2017 via Wicked Cool Records in partnership with The Orchard and is available for pre-order now HERE.
“This is told from the point of view of the singer being the girlfriend of Jeff Buckley on the side of the river when he drowns,” lead singer ZouZou Mansour shared. “The first chorus is Jeff telling her how they’re on the cusp of great success, and it’s ‘fate.’ But ‘fate’ turns when he drowns, so his words now take on the eerie new meaning of: go on without me and be ok, because this was destined. ‘Now Heaven is happy, but me I still look for you, my wandering star.’ The singer is left to look to and talk to the sky where she looks for her lost lover now.”
