LA-based producer, songwriter, and R&B/soul artist Aidan Carroll has shared a new single from his forthcoming album The Other Side, entitled “Misunderstood.” The track is now available for streaming & purchase on Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes
“This song wrote itself,” explains Carroll. “I’ve always felt I don’t quite fit in, especially in the music world, so it’s about feeling like people just don’t get you as a person. The complexity of having different aspects to your personality and creative skills as an artist can be daunting to express in the modern world. It’s also about life transitions, coming into your 30s and feeling a kind of identity crisis. That change is hard, but necessary for growth.”
Aidan Carroll is a musical chameleon, a wild wanderer, and passionate artist constantly in search of an original sound. As he emerges from a past of virtuosic instrumental music, Aidan has refined all his influences, experiences, and diverse talents into his first sophisticatedly soulful offering as producer, songwriter, and vocalist in the forthcoming album, The Other Side. Aidan has toured internationally with Grammy-winning powerhouse vocalist Lisa Fischer, jazz singer-songwriter Melody Gardot, and blues rock powerhouse Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds. He has produced for a variety of different artists and worked with a vast spectrum of producers & songwriters, including Zhu, Liana Bank$, Frex, and Melissa McMillan, to name a few. In 2017, Aidan released the single, “Priority” which Okayplayer calls “a sleek, slow-churning R&B number; modern, but with a touch of Stevie’s “Rocket Love” for altitude.”
With all of his musical endeavors leading up to his second album The Other Side,Aidan finds more confidence as he pushes himself to sing, write, layer textures, and do whatever his spirit moves him to do within the project.
