Virginia-born alt/R&B artist Reece has shared his new single “3AM,” available for streaming now across all commercial platforms. The track is the first single from Reece’s debut EP I’m Not Sure Yet, due out in early 2019. It was produced by Jazz Feezy (Drake, Lil Yachty, Rick Ross) and written and recorded by Reece in Los Angeles.
“This song is about those reflective moments a person has after a relationship ends,” he explains. “It’s about how difficult it can be watching someone you love move on with their life after the relationship has ended especially when you yourself haven’t quite moved on yet.”
Reece’s music reveals vulnerable, vital, and vibrant alternative R&B poetry and showcases a vocal range just as expansive as his emotional spectrum. That’s why he immediately stirred up a buzz amongst listeners everywhere. Pigeons & Planespremiered his stirring, soulful single “Don’t Go” in 2015, and it quietly amassed over 1.8 million streams. He drew praise from FADER, Ones To Watch, Indie Shuffle, Hillydilly, and many others. Makeup maven Amanda Steele placed him on her Gateway compilation alongside Joey Bada$$, Pell, Saba, Tink, and more. Reece’s single “Lost in Translation” was also featured on an exclusive Urban Outfitters vinyl alongside Billie Eilish, WET, Lany, and many more. All of these early accomplishments have set the stage for the release of his debut EP at the top of 2019, with further music set for release prior to then.
“I want people to think about their lives and reflect when they listen to my music,” he leaves off. “My biggest goal is to make them feel like—even though the songs can be sad—they’re not alone. They can listen to me and feel like they belong. That’s what my favorite artists did for me.”
