Preston Lovinggood has released the feel-good video for “Everything Will Be Okay.” Inspired by “the place of wanting to find meaning in life rather than just moving through life,” the video can be seen now below.
The new song is set for inclusion on his forthcoming album Consequences, set for release May 17, 2019 via Last Gang Records.
Managing to conjure a unique soundscape of its own, like sun-kissed, modern pop that pulls off the neat trick of appearing straightforward when, upon further inspection, the music often trails off into subtle psychedelic curls, Consequences, Lovinggood’s third full-length release, is his most concise, hook-laden album to date. At just under 40 minutes, Consequence, with its rich productions and scrupulous observations peppered through the lyrics begs for repeat listening. “Everything Will Be Okay,” “Taken in the Night,” “Divorce,” and the beautifully orchestrated title-track are breathtaking, sweet, hilarious, hallucinatory, and devastating – often all at once. And “Moon Fever” is arguably the spiritual centerpiece of the album.
Of the videos concept Preston Lovinggood shares, “I’ve never been the type of person to talk loudly on a phone in a coffee shop or in public, but I’ve always admired those who could, those people who can just, ignore any thoughts or reactions people might have towards them and just be. So, walking around New York, looking out of place isn’t normal for me. But, I could always relate to the person who wanted to speak up, or say something, but was scared to use their voice. So, this version of me, walking around the street, a stranger in a strange land, using my voice to help people realize everything will be okayis something I’ve wanted to share with others.”
