Los Angeles based (by way of Jackson, Wyoming) indie-pop band WYO shared the video for their new single, “Moonlight”. On their latest track, singer Andy Sorge’s vocals soar over a synth-laden composition with lyrics referencing a couple holding close to their relationship while needing a break from the reality they live in.
The video, shot under the stars at 3 Spear Ranch in Dubois, Wyoming, captures the story through stunning visuals that follow the pair through a stark and forbidding world. With many of the scenes featuring lush aerial shots, the video transports the viewer into a cinematic escape filled with gorgeous landscapes and an enthralling love story. The track serves as the first single from WYO’s upcoming sophomore album Changes due out later this year, with more details to be announced. On the video for “Moonlight”, singer Andy Sorge stated:
“When we first started to conceptualize the video for “Moonlight”, the night sky easily came to mind. The song references a couple escaping into the night, away from the light of day, and the stars became a theme throughout the video. We wanted to stay true to the lyrics of the song by showing visuals that match the moments sung about. We aimed at creating a desolate and ominous world. I heard that a friend from school, Creed Garnick and his wife Sascha, who are both actors from Wyoming, were living in Dubois and running an art ranch called 3 Spear Ranch, so we connected with them about the video and filmed “Moonlight” in this remote area under the stars.”
