LGBT pop writer-performer Myylo has released his new single, “Cyborg“.
With a series of releases under his belt, the emerging pop act looks to continue putting out relateable, whimsical bops with his latest offering. After participating in a week-long Telluride, Colorado writing trip with Mike Posner, and another with Baby Face and Spotify Secret Genuis, Myylo is looking forward to releasing a cache of songs, including Cyborg, in 2019.
Cyborg draws influence from the chord structures of Rex Orange County, the playfulness of Kim Petras, and the unabashed joyfulness of Chance the Rapper. The lyrics are frequently serialist with Myylo wishing he could “shoot off into space on [his] jetpack” and “bounce around the heavens” till he finds God to ask why he ever let his lover go. Its melodrama made fun by pulsating bass lines, buoyant drums, and instantly quoteable lyrics.
With captivating indie-pop production that includes janky classical guitars and hooky alto sax licks, Myylo’s latest release makes him a ones-to-watch artist. Having penned and performed the Starbucks’ 2018 National Holiday Campaign and supported several major label artists in Nashville, Myylo has big plans for 2019 including a series of releases and an East Coast tour through the Sofar Sounds network.
Offering some insight into his new single, Myylo explains,
“One thing I’m proud of with this song is that it manages to address something heavy while sounding joyful. I’m literally wishing I could talk to God to figure out why I F’d things up with my ex. Its like, yeah, my personal life may be a dumpster fire right now, but we’re still gonna dance about it and laugh through the tears.”
